Merry New Things and a Happy stuff!

I forgot about the Leopard of Lime Street book, but was very excited that Santa brought me the first Faceache collection. So much fun reading those bitesize installments.

Happy to hear TBMD managed to find a few choice scraps in the sales, I’ve managed to miss the lot so far (Krypton starts tomorrow- Friday, but I’ll be working). 2001 truly is amazing, I had OMAC as a recent toilet book, and every page is just insanity. Agree that even when you’ve read a ton of Kirby’s work, he can still amaze and confuse.

Want to check out the Grand Design thing at some point, Piskor was a guest on an episode of 11 O’ Clock Comics not long ago, the guy sounds like a comic machine.

I’ve been reading JD case files #29 lately too and think it’s pretty good. There is admittedly some horrible art in there but there’s a fair bit of better art as well andJohn Wagner’s firmly back on the writing after lots of crap by fill in writers in previous years. What’s great about it is how much story he manages to fit into each six pages during this period. It can admittedly feel a bit too dense a read taken together as a collection and is probably best read over a few sessions. I’d particularly recommend the opener ‘Mega city way of death’, ‘Alien town’s burning’ (by Cam Kennedy) and my favorite ‘Wounded heart’ when we learn Dredd’s a bit of an ornitholigist
