This is true. Every time I’ve chosen to take a quick stroll down straightedge lane, my friends have all gotten weirdly cagey, asking if it’s all right to neck liquors in my presence. This, despite the fact that I gave up Lucky Strikes six years back yet I still nom the smell of cheap & fusty tobacco.
Come to think on it, I b’lieve my last two collaborations with artist friends fell apart because they needed drinking partners more than they needed art assists.
Just to say, I’d never read any of Danny’s stuff before but these are great and I’m proper excited to read the rest as they go up.
They’re very effective, these wee comics – there’s a lot of work being done with a few lines, I think.
And yeah, having went “aff the booze” a few times in my life, I can relate to number 6 there. People don’t trust a straight edge student, oh no – they look for wires when they’re talking to you, almost…
