My name is Gary. I am twelve years old. I live in Brighton. I have two cats. I like pop music but I love rock music. I live in a house. I hate classical music. At the weekend I play table football with my friend Jean Pierre. I enjoy swimming in the swimming pool. In my bedroom I have posters of pop musicians. I like reading comics.

SILENCE! #228 is a right old state on a plate, mate as Gary Lactus and The Beast Must Die reconvene with reports on the new Pat Mills novel, Serial Killers plus ICE Brighton and MCM London, (they’re no Thought Bubble).

Then it’s time for some Sadmin as the chaps Bat-bid a fond Bat-farewell to Adam West.

There’s only one place to go from there and that’s The Reviewniverse where Bulletproof Coffin: 1000 Yard Stare, Doctor Strange, Divided States Of Hysteria, Rocket and Extremity with a couple of brief thoughts on All New Guardians Of The Galaxy, Saga and Kaijumax

I was worried I was going to miss the contributions of the glorious, effortlessly charming galacticats so was very excited to hear what sounded like some ‘guest-wailing’ by them early in the episode.
I really do think that you should do away with all the comics related rubbish and just do a show starring them instead

I can understand the Beast’s and Gary’s reservations about Chaykin’s work. However, I don’t think he is a misogynist (or a racist) per se. He is a misanthrope and thinks himself “an equal opportunities offender” (despite his fetishes). His square-jawed, cynical shtarker stand-in characters are often made to look as ridiculous as anybody else. His heavy handed satire is very “American” in so far as it is completely over-the-top. More is very much more with him. There is no doubt that he has become far too beholden to the digital effects which once made him an innovator in the past.
I say all this despite not yet seeing his latest work so what the fuck do I know!

  13. Paul Jon Thrillin' Says:

Cannae really be an equal opportunities offender in the world we live in, given power imbalances and such. Offence against different groups carries different weights. I’m sure he’s not consciously a misogynist/racist etc, but that stuff is there in his work, I reckon
