SILENCE! #200

October 20th, 2016

That’s right puny humans, your favourite podcast has been on air for 200 years! And to celebrate those national pleasure treasures Gary Lactus & The Beast Must Die invited a select group of 1200 of their closest fans to attend SILENCE! LIVE, in The Nexus Of All Realities. And then they recorded it for all you lucky, but less dedicated, dear listeners. Featuring able pod-lietentants Bobsy and Lord Nuneaton Savage, as well as an array of amazing guest voices. Comics! Talking! Drinking! It’s all here and it’s just as amateurish as you want.

<ITEM> I can’t remember what we talked about, but basically we focused on Anniversary Issues…look stop yelling at me, I’m hungover! I need some cheese on toast. Just listen to the damn podcast and write your own blurb would you? Shut the curtains on the way out would you?

    Congrats on reaching 200 episodes!

  3. Anton B Says:

Thanks again guys it was a blast. And another blast listening to it all again. Lovely to meet you all in the flesh (and discover a strange connection to the Beast and Bobsie in my past) you’re all very lovely people.

  4. Derek Says:

Congrats on the big arbitrary number celebration, guys! Still listening and patreoning, if no longer in much of a position to comment all that often. (I’ve mostly been ready old Nancy strips anyway.)

Yesterday I went down into my local bargain basement, which is a pretty good basement but not much of a bargain (two Canadian bucks for back issues!), and bought some floppies in your honour: Truman’s Hawkworld Books 1-3, that Mark Badger Martian Manhunter miniseries, and Detective Comics 604-607. Sorry that these picks lean so Beast, Lactus. I looked for the Flaming Carrot to no avail!

Both of you do a very fine job of keeping me company when you overcome your understandable life turds and release an episode. We’re all a little lonely, I’m sure, and the connection I feel to you and all your listeners makes my (not at all bad) life a little better.

  5. Tam Says:

    Congratulations on reaching #200!
The talk of Conan reminded me of this great review of lots of generic but fun stories about the Cimmerian

Particularly like the line : ‘Your basic Conan story should involve a woman, a wizard, a monster and a horse. Conan should ride off on one of those carrying another after having have killed all the rest’

It was great to witness such a monumental occasion! Here’s to 200 more episodes! I felt bad that I hadn’t done the homework, but luckily there was plenty other stuff to talk about. My usual technique of ‘just about to say something, but always missing the cue’ served me well I think. Before I ever saw Bobsy, I imagined him to be a short bald chap so that was a surprise. Anyway, thanks for organising a fun night out gents, and congrats once again!

  7. Gary Lactus Says:

I hope we can do it again sometime. I had a lovely pod.

  8. Adam Says:

    Well done, you fucking legends.
