Scary British public information films of the 70s
Hauntology (UK style) is deeply tied to that sort of thing. Check out FoundObjects in the sidebar
Also, I’m really rather partial to the electronic music of Jon Brooks, in his Advisory Circle guise, which takes its cue largely from 70s British daytime TV and those very same public information films.
Here’s another recent one, not as gross as the “Hit me at 30″ one. This is more creepy:

These are all fantastic, but I especially love the dark, lonely water creepy hooded spirit. Go figz.
The voiceover on Lonely Water was by Donald Pleasance, the great creepy actor from such films as Halloween and THX1138 and he played Blofeld in You Only Live Twice. Top chap!
